Vehicle Overview
You may not know this tidbit but the Optima is based on the Hyundai Sonata, which first saw life in 2000 and replaces the Mazda based Kia Credos. While the first generation model was basically a fourth generation Sonata with different styling and equipment, succeeding generations are distinct from its Hyundai cousin. This vehicle slots above the Forte in Kias line-up and was its entrant to the mid-size category locally.

Philippine market models have Hyundais 2.4 as standard which performs fine. While it is based on the Sonata, some traits such as ride comfort and braking arent inherited which can be described as noisy and its ride stiff. At least handling is excellent and the transmission is responsive.

Inside, the Sonata traits continue on with an excellent but some low quality controls and the rear design makes reversing and back headroom difficult.

What Should I Get
Only one model is available but it is feature packed so you wouldnt miss a lot. Standard items include the following: Hyundais 176hp 2.4, dual airbags, ABS brakes, stability control, power front seats, leather upholstery, automatic climate control, steering wheel controls for audio and cruise control, alarm, ke yless entry, sun roof, Bluetooth, rear aircon vents, push button start, 60/40 fold rear seat, and daytime running lamps.

How Much Would It Cost Me
Not much problems were reported due to the fact it has sold less than its popular cousin but do not fret, maintenance costs are nearly identical since nearly everything is similar to one another.
